When adults forget life is a lot of baby steps

Remember back when you were born and the next day you got up and starting running around the living room?

Oh, that didn’t happen?

There were probably a few steps between you being wrapped up like a baby burrito drool factory and moving around.

When we’re kids, we don’t think twice about making strides toward learning something.

We know we can’t just wake up one day and read a book or write a letter or understand what a word means.

Of course, we can’t pick up something in a day.

It takes time.

Trying and falling and failing and getting a little bit better every day.

The problem is once we become adults we forget how we got here.

We get angry when we can’t immediately do something well.

We have these insane expectations that are so unrealistic.

  • Write a best selling book in a month
  • Run a marathon with no training
  • Become a six-figure freelance writer in weeks

We’re not willing to give ourselves the time to fail as adults that we expect as a…
